What you read, choose, and tell Sinvitation is the most private thing we hold. We collect as little as the story needs, we never sell it, we do not let it train anyone's AI model, and you can have all of it deleted in one request.

1. What this covers

This notice covers the Sinvitation website, the waitlist, and the reader app where you set up a world and read chapters. It explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Plain language is deliberate. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will rewrite it.

2. What we collect

We do not collect payment details. Nobody is charged during the preview.

What our usage measurement never sees: the text of any chapter, message or post, your settings, your limits, your name, or your email address. Events record that something happened, never what you read or chose. Session recording and automatic click capture are switched off, deliberately. That is written into the code and checked with every change.

3. Sexual preferences and story content

Your settings and your stories say something about your sexuality. Under UK and EU data protection law that is special category data and gets extra protection. We treat all of it that way wherever you live.

• We ask for it only because the story cannot be written for you without it.
• We rely on your explicit consent, given when you finish onboarding. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account, and you can change any setting whenever you like.
• It is never used for advertising, never sold, never shared with data brokers, and never used to build a profile of you outside your own story.
• It is never sent to our usage measurement provider.
• Anything you mark as a limit is stored so that it can be excluded. It is used to keep something out, never to put something in.

4. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

5. How the story gets written, and what the AI sees

Your chapters are written by an artificial intelligence model run by a third party. We send that provider the instructions for your world and enough of your story for the next part to make sense. In practice that means:

• Sent: the description of the world and its characters, your first name if you gave one, your settings, your limits, a summary of what has happened so far, notes about each character, and the choice you last made.
• Not sent: your email address, your account identifier, your network address, or anything that identifies you as a person outside the story.

We choose providers whose terms say that data sent through their business interface is not used to train their models, and we do not opt in to training on your content. If we change provider we will update the list in section 6 before the change takes effect.

A small number of people on the Sinvitation team can read generated chapters, to check quality and safety. During the preview the reader app says so on its first screen. We intend to narrow that access to content you report or flag; until we have, please assume a person may read a chapter.

6. Who else touches your data

We use a small number of companies to run Sinvitation. Each processes some of your data on our instructions, and none may use it for their own purposes.

We will also disclose data where the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so. If Sinvitation is ever sold or merged your data may transfer with it, and this notice continues to apply until you are told otherwise.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in United States state privacy laws.

7. Where your data is

Our providers store and process data in the United States. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, your data is transferred there under the standard contractual clauses in our agreements with those providers, with the UK addendum where it applies.

8. How long we keep it

• Your account, settings and stories: for as long as you have an account, then deleted within 30 days of your asking.
• If you never come back: we delete accounts inactive for 24 months, after emailing you first if we have an address.
• Waitlist: until you ask to come off it, or 24 months after the last time you heard from us, whichever is first.
• Feedback: up to 24 months, separated from your account where we can.
• Usage events: up to 12 months.
• Anything we must keep by law, or to resolve a dispute, for as long as that requires and no longer.

A world that exists only on your phone, because you read without making an account, disappears the moment you clear the app’s storage or tap Start over. We never had a copy.

9. Your rights, and how to use them

Depending on where you live you can ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything wrong;
• delete everything;
• give you your data in a portable form;
• stop or limit a particular use;
• withdraw a consent you gave, without affecting what came before;
• not be subject to a decision made purely by a machine with a legal or similarly significant effect. Sinvitation makes no such decisions: the AI writes fiction, and decides nothing about you.

To use any of these, write to us from the address on your account, or the address you gave the waitlist. We answer within 30 days, and we will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area and think we have got something wrong, you can complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

10. Security

Your rows in our database are locked to your account, so one reader cannot read another reader’s world even if something else goes wrong. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Team access is limited to the people who need it and is logged. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you we will tell you promptly, and tell the regulator where the law requires it.

11. Cookies and phone storage

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party advertising. We store a small amount of data on your device to sign you in and keep your place, and our usage measurement sets its own identifier so repeat visits are not counted twice. If you read without an account, your entire world is stored on your device and nowhere else.

12. Adults only

Sinvitation is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account we delete it and everything in it. Before we open to the public we will add age verification where the law requires it.

13. Changes

When we change this notice we change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, for example a new provider seeing your story content, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.

14. Who we are, and how to reach us

Sinvitation is an independent product built by a small team. The company that will operate it is being formed; its registered name, address and data protection contact will appear here before we take any payment, and we will not start charging before that is done.

Until then the fastest way to reach a person is the contact page. A human reads everything that arrives there.
